June is ONE

I can't believe that my baby is already one year old. The time really has just flown right by - I am not sure I am ready for my June to grow up so fast. It seems like a few days ago that I just had her and now she is a big girl who can walk and everything. I love this girl so much and it would be impossible for me to picture my life without her in it. June is what I do and think about all day. She makes me happier than I ever thought I could be as a mom. She is so precious and sweet and I love watching her grow (even if it does happen too fast). Happy Birthday to my beautiful ONE year old!!!
We had a birthday party out at our house with our whole family. June got a pool from mom and dad and she likes just sitting in it and relaxing. She got a ton of great gifts from her aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. Thanks so much to all of you!!!
June had a cute brown bow to go with her new outfit, but do you think she could leave it on for even one picture - no way.
She loved her "June Bug" cake and even wanted to use a fork to eat it. She is such a girl, she didn't even get that messy when she ate it
We also got her a bubble machine since June just loves for us to blow bubbles. I think she had a ball at her party (she always does when her favorite Aunt Rose is around).

Cinco de Mayo!

We had a Fiesta Monday night celebrating Cinco de Mayo over at the Smith's house. They adopted a boy who is Mexican, so we do this every year in honor of him.
There was lots of good food, and of course we had festive Mexican Hat straws in our drinks.
June was loving being outside in the warm weather. She didn't know quite what to do with the pinata, but she thought it was very pretty. She also liked this turtle with the sombrero on it.
Also, June has been walking for a couple of weeks now. I have yet to get a good picture of her in the act, and this is the best one thus far. She isn't a pro just yet, but she gets better and better every day.

Cowboy Up

This past Tuesday at mutual we had a Daddy-Daughter Cowboy Night for the girls. It was lots of fun. I even taught them a line dance (as best I could remember from good old Country Dancing at BYU-I). It was fun to dress up in all of my cowgirl things again. We also learned how to rope from a guy in the ward. It was a very fun night and I think the girls had a good time with their dads.
This past weekend it got warm enough to go outside and do some yard work. I got on my beloved mower for the first time in a year - it was glorious. We cleaned out flower beds, and got our garden ready to be planted next weekend (or whenever it warms up again - we woke up to snow today). June loved being outside. When we weren't looking she even ate dirt, and seemed to like it. The picture above is of her enjoying a stick, and the one below is of her chasing the cat. This cat just hangs around our house and June loves to watch it. She would love to catch it, but it doesn't let her come too close (plus, I don't want her touching it).
I just added this last picture because June looks so sweet. We were having lunch the other day and June just fell asleep in her chair. I just looked over and she was out like a light. You just can't help but love this girl.

Mr. Skyline

The other day I was making dinner and had to get something up high so I pulled out my trusty little step ladder so I could reach it. I left the ladder there and before I knew it June had climbed up on the ladder. I guess she wanted to help me cook. She couldn't get down, but when I would put her back on the floor she just wanted to climb up again - what a funny girl.
Yesterday my whole family headed over to good old SHS to watch Preston compete in Mr. Skyline. On Sunday when I talked with him he didn't know what he was going to do for his talent, but he was ready yesterday. He and his friend made up a funny song about the Senior Research paper that they all are writing and they sang it while wearing these lovely bath robes (sorry that the picture is so bad). You probably would have had to be there, but it was really funny.
Preston ended up being the 2nd runner up - not to shabby. I am so proud of my brother!!! By the way, for those of you who don't know what Preston looks like - he is the one in the white tux with his bare chest underneath (so weird).

Mischief Managed

It amazes me how fast June can move from one mess to another. It is not like I leave her alone for long periods of time - she only needs for me to turn my back and she gets into something new. I suppose it is in her genes because my mom says I did the same thing. The first picture is of me when I was about June's age climbing on the plant stand. The second is of June taking all of the tissues out of the box. Like mother like daughter I suppose!!!

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter this year. It was June's first, and even though she had no idea what was going on, I think she had a good time. The "Easter Bunny" left June's basket right out in the middle of the floor so she could find it in the morning and their were lots of Easter eggs all around that she could pick up. June got to wear her Easter dress to church - it matched her eyes and she of course looked adorable.

We went down to Pocatello to my brother and sister-in-law's house for an Easter Egg Hunt and Easter dinner. The Easter Egg Hunt was so much fun. There was no snow outside so the kids got to go out into the yard to find the eggs.

We put June on the grass so she could go find some eggs with her cousins, but having never crawled on grass before she didn't know what to think. I just picked her up and carried her to some of the eggs she could pick up.

June and I had gone up to Island Park a few days before Easter with my Mom, Rose, Krissy, Addy, and Alex for a "Girls Only Get-Away" to the cabin. There is still so much snow up there. I pulled June in the sled and she loved it (although, she is crying in this picture). I also got to go cross country skiing, which is surprisingly fun. I don't think they will need me for the Olympic team, but you never know!!

Wearing of the Green

Happy St. Patricks Day to all of you fellow celebrators. We have had a traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner for years now with my family and the Smith family (or should I say the McRammell's and the O'Smiths). It is so much fun to celebrate this holiday and every year the food just gets better and better - I give credit completly to my mom and Krissy who can make anything taste good (even cabbage). This year my brother Preston dressed up like a leprachaun for school and wore it to the party as well - yes that really is a green suit!!! By the way, Preston was selected to be on the Post Register's All Area Wrestling team this year. Way to go bud.
This past weekend we headed down to Logan to attend my cousin Jarom's wedding. It was fun to see all of my cousins that live so far away that I don't get to see them often. The wedding was very lovely and we are all so happy for Jarom and Mindy.

Say So Long

I have chopped my hair off!!! Yes, that is right I finally did it. My hair has been long for so many years now, and it was time for a change. I have been thinking about doing it for months now, but I always would chicken out and convince myself not to. My sister cut hers off last week and that gave me the courage I needed. Now my hair goes to my SHOULDERS . I cut off about ten inches and I donated it to "Locks of Love." I like it and I think it will be easier for me to do something with it now, but I have to admit that I do miss my long hair when I look at this picture.

Powder

Finally!!!!!!! I went skiing this past Saturday night and I loved every second of it. The conditions were incredible. It was snowing when we got to the resort and there was untouched powder on lots of the runs. It felt so good to ski again after having to sit out last season. Sean and I went with Brett and Margaret (my brother and sister-in-law) who were visiting from Utah. Now that I have been I am itching to go again!

We also took June swimming for the first time this weekend. She LOVED it. I am so happy that she likes the water I could burst. Sean is a little scared of the water, so I worry about my kids being scared too, but it looks like I am not going to have that problem with June. She was kicking and splashing just like a fish. On Sunday my new nephew Preston was blessed and we spent the day at my sister-in-law Amber's house. It was fun to visit with family and just relax. I wish every weekend were like this one.

To Boise and Back

This past weekend my mom, grandma, June, and myself traveled over to Boise to support my brother Preston who was wrestling at State. Preston has been to state all 3 years he has been in high school and is a very good wrestler at 119 lbs. I have to admit that I am not the biggest wrestling fan in the world, but I have a greater respect for the sport after having been to this state tournament. All of the guys that make it to state are really good, so basically every match is fun to watch. Preston didn't end up placing this year, but he had a successful season none the less. While in Boise we stayed with my Uncle Webb and Aunt Laury. It was so nice of them to take us in. They have very busy lives and it was fun to be with them for a few days. They have twin boys who are 5 and June just loved to play with them - she thought she was a big kid! They also have two cats and June just wanted to play with them, but she could never catch them. We did a little bit of shopping while we were there as well. All in all it was a great trip.

Above is June playing with Jack.

This is a four generation shot.

June discovered this door stop while we were at Uncle Webb's and it became her favorite toy. She would flick it and it would make a great sound. Go figure - she has all of these toys and she likes the door stop best of all.

These last two pictures are just at our house. June gets into EVERYTHING. It is entertaining to see all of the things she manages to get her hands on. In the above picture she has a Nerf dart in her mouth. Sean and I both have Nerf guns and somehow she got the darts out and thought they worked as excellent suckers. Below is one of my favorite weasel shots. She has her one finger out and is looking at me with the "look what I got into" face. You just can't help but love her!!!

February Happenings

I really am determiined to go skiing this year. Sean does not ski, so that makes things a little difficult, but that just means I will have to get my sister out of school sometime and go with her while my mom watches June. This weekend my newest sister-in-law, Margaret, taught me how to wax my own skis. I was pretty impressed with myself - it wasn't near as hard as I thought it was going to be.

Valentines Day was a good one at our house. June got valentines in the mail from her cousins and her grandma. Grandma sent a sucker as well - I have never given June candy before, but I decided it was a holiday, so I let her enjoy it!!! I got June a Valentines present as well. It is a purple seahorse swimming tube. Target had all of their summer stuff out and I just couldn't help myself - I had to get it.

Before Sean went to work on Valentines Day I got up and made him heart shaped pancakes. Sometimes they didn't exactly look like hearts, but I think he liked them anyway.

Sean gave me flowers and used June's blocks to spell out Happy Valentines. He can be pretty sweet, but I guess thats why I love him so much.

Blogging Again

It has been a long time since my last post. Our internet has been down at our house for a while now, so I am blogging from my mom's house. Anyway, life has gone on for the three of us. We celebrated my brother Preston's 18th birthday on January 27th. I can't believe that he is that old - I mean, it seems like I was only 18 yesterday. June loved the candles on his cake, and she wanted to get at them. We kept her at a distance though.

She did manage to get into a york peppermint pattie while I wasn't looking. I think she liked it, but I took it away from her before she could make a big mess of her outfit

June is an expert crawler now, and she can move pretty dang fast. I have to keep a close eye on her because she can go wherever she wants. We don't have any stairs or anything too dangerous in our house, but I think if June can find trouble she will. She is also into emptying out things these days. I don't have a picture yet, but I will get one. She loves to take all of my shoes out of my closet and then go into her room and take all her shoes out as well.

It has been a winter wonderland up here in Idaho. We have gotten more snow this year than we have in a long time. Both Sean and I have been loving it. I have yet to go skiing (something I have been dying to do again), but we have been snowmobiling several times. Sean has a machine and we have borrowed my in-laws machines as well.

The picture of June above is just her being sneeky. You can see it on her face - she wants to do something that she dosn't want her mom to see, what a weasel.

This picture is just so cute I had to put it on. I was getting ready to go snowmobiling and she wanted to help me. Isn't she just a little doll face. I love her to pieces. I can't believe she is 9 months old now.

This last picture is of my new nephew Preston. He is a sweet little guy. He is now the 12th grandchild on the Marshall side, which means that June is no longer the baby.

My Grandpa Moulton

Boyd Moulton : September 7, 1920 - January 16, 2007
I am lucky and blessed to call this incredible man my Grandpa.
